Gez.
Baron Laurentius

Greetings BlackAdder !
As you wished, my troups moved back from your realm.
Due to an new etablishment of a town of yours, two other towns were destroyed.
One of me and the other one belonged zo Ansgar. It was his capital.
I demand as an renumeration two towns of yours, one for me and one for Ansgar.
Shouldn't you agree, we have to think about other measures.
Signed,

Greetings Laurentius,
what do you mean that I have destroyed a town from you and andgar?
How can I destroy a town (or two) with the simple act of building one myself?
I have absolutely no proof of what you have said...
And how should I hand over my towns? I don´t even have the gold to build them up again since I spent all the gold on these towns. And then suffer the loss of faith?
Oh, and can I ask how long you two lords are on Tamar?

Dear Laurentius,
as far as I know your town and the captial of Ansgars realm were destroyed the same time Black Adder founded his new village. But since this was no act of aggression you can't blame him for this. Obviously he had no intention to destroy your cities.
As a matter of fact you can't even be sure about a possible connection between these two events.
Blame the gods and do it aloud, they are the only responsible.
Kind regards,
Godefroy the Embalmed

@Lord Laurentius
I think the demand of renumeration from BlackAdder is unjust considering your losses are the responsibility of the Gods. It was the Gods who should have ensured that BlackAdder was not allowed to build there, or that if he did his new town would be ruined, as happens when anyone else unwittingly builds too near an existing settlement.
Having said that, I do sympathise with the loss you and especially Asgar have suffered. I think what has happened is totally unjust.
@Lord BlackAdder
While you are not directly and knowingly responsible for what happened, it is true that your one town has caused the destruction of one town that belonged to Laurentius and more disastrously, Ansgar's capital city. My scouts have been in the area a long time and they confirm this to be the case. In the case of Ansgar it's not even a case of a smaller lord benefitting at the cost of a larger one, as the events arguably leave you with more land and towns than Ansgar has, not to mention that losing one's capital and only port is no laughing matter.
In fact, the local situation is such that I would seriously consider finding some sort of compromise, because otherwise Ansgar's options are to rot away or attack you and take what he needs. It may not be a situation of your making, but it is one you will have to deal with.
I would also urge caution in the way you deal with the older lords you meet now that you have access to the rest of us and we to you. The last new lord to treat all comers to his area with disdain and threats came to a rather sudden premature and painful end. Not everyone you meet is a Baldrick or a Percy, and while there may be a few Melchetts about, they can be as much of a PITA as ever.
I also noticed that you wondered why we older lords would be interested in your lands. Don't we have enough land already? The answer, of course, is no, we don't. The idea is that we give land and favours to our vassals. In order to continue growing and attract more vassals, we therefore need to acquire more land. It is the way of Tamar life.
There are many ways to do this, including waiting for a smaller lord to provoke us to an extent where honour demands a reprimand, and then...
I think you catch my drift.
Regards,

Greetings Garibaldi,
so it is true that those towns were lost?
Well, put yourself in my place. You are new on Tamar and some old lords say that you have destroyed one of their towns while building one yourself and then demand compensation and move armies to your border.
What would your reaction be?
Of course they just said so, I have not seen proof of any of this. And if the gods play dice, then why not complain to them?
And lots of people are just saying thing. Since I was met with lies and deceit from the beginning, do you think I would accept what they say? Well, would you?
So, Ansgars options are to rot or take what he needs... How many other lords do you think he needs helping him with that?
There are only two lords blessed with a coastal town here and still some try to cut of access for others by bad placement.
Oh, and I will treat the others like I was treated here. Disdain, lies and deceit. You saw it with Richter, Medusa and Hobbit. All lying through their teeth (or speaking with forked tongue) but they cannot prove the things they say I have done (Funny, ain´t it?)
I will not be quiet or beg for table scraps of the high and mighty and become a vassal of them. Although I got many offers to become one...
Mostly the idea of the offers was to keep the vassalship quiet until I was attacked and then put it out in the open so that they have a reason to attack my attackee.
So, in closing I can only say: Laurentius and ansgar had a town on their side of the darkness, I on my side. They lost theirs because they were bigger and the gods weren´t watching. Please complain to the gods then and let them decide what to do.
Just sacrifice a bull and worship them from 9 to 5 and you just might get an answer...

Yes, it seems that is the general idea. You take the free land and give it to those who could have taken it in the first place and get new vassals from it. I just saw that with Elwim. He managed to get ONE acre and the next turn he tried to build a city on it (wich he lost because I build one myself in the same quarter)The idea is that we give land and favours to our vassals. In order to continue growing and attract more vassals, we therefore need to acquire more land. It is the way of Tamar life.

And speaking of honour, could it be that most don´t even know what that word is about? Or have a very warped sense of it?There are many ways to do this, including waiting for a smaller lord to provoke us to an extent where honour demands a reprimand, and then...

However, you lost your town, not because I am clever, but because we built the towns in the same quarter and then the gods destroyed yours because you have more cities...
