Question regarding the new landmass

Beitrag von Leyic »

Is there any chance that my account can be restarted on it when it opens? Currently, I started stuck on a penninsula of land, surrounded by the sea and the territory of a rival lord. As such, I am unable to test my armies on anything (I don't think the other player would much appreciate being attacked), and am facing economic stagnation due to a lack of resources that can hamper my development in the long-term. If this weren't the case, and I had plenty of territory to expand into, I would be able to test other aspects of the game that I currently cannot reasonably test.

I should also mention that if I were a paying customer I'd probably demand a refund by this point as it's no fun being stuck on the same seven acres of land. All I can do is maintain the status quo, wondering when I'll be able to buy the stone and wood from my rivals that I apparently cannot collect myself due to an under-abundance of resources on the land I started and am stuck on. While I understand that I'm testing the game and not playing for fun, if I were playing for fun this would be a major point of contention as I wouldn't be able to experience as much of the game as other players. This might arguably even be a bug of sorts since it does affect gameplay.

Yes, you can give up your current realm and restart in the new area if you want. No problem.

But dont expect that all the 'army-things' will change only because you are in a new area. In a totally new area you will have other problems. And for testing the armies its not necessary to start new.

But if you really want. No problem.

I'll try to stick it out, but I'll probably want to restart when the time comes. It's not so much the 'army-things' as it is the having no room to expand for my overcramped and overtaxed population, leading to economic depression thing. How can I test stables if I can't even afford to build them?

Hi Leyic,

you are not only about to test the stables, but the whole game.
And this includes to communicate with your neighbours.
May be they give you some land. May be not. But thats not the point.
The usual way for small lords to become great is to become a vassal of one of their neighbours. Unfortunately most of the new lords refuse to become a vassal for a certain time, because they have too much land to expand, when they start their game. So they become never really strong, because they never learned how to ally with stronger or weaker lords. ToT is build around a system of vassalship and liegelords. Without this the game doesn't work as supposed. And my experience gives me right, becoming vassal is a step, that hurts sometimes, but it makes you stronger. And belive me, I know what I'm talking about. ;-)

Kind regards,
Christian aka. Godefroy the embalmed
