I cannot build a market place :(

Hi all,

Running the latest update to the Amiga client on E-UAE. I'm into the game by about 9 turns (I think) and I cannot build a market place.

I have the following:

• * Researched technics level 1
  * Over 3100 people living in my country (requirement is 2500 in the town, and I only have 1 town)
  * I have 3 scouts out and about in the land
  * I have ~320 people on various sectors performing 'cultivation'
  * I have somewhat over 21000 GP on hand
  * 0 free people free to harvest
  * currently researching (2/4 quarters complete) medicine

I believe that I have met all the requirements to build the marketplace, yet it is greyed out and I get the message that I haven't met all requirements if I try to build it anyway.

Finally, I only received 7 of the 8 tutorial messages. Not sure if the final one depends on me having a marketplace or not.

Do I need to move people back in from the fields or bring all my scouts back to mett the '2500 people in the town' requirement? Do I need another level of technics (some games I have played, you always needed the next level above the requirement)

I really would like to build a marketplace.

the Problem is this:

Not all people lives in your town. Only 50% (with 1 town) of your people lives in a town.

You need 5000 people in your country then lives 2500 people in your town and you can build a marktplace.

Ah. Many thanks, This isn't clear at all. I thought perhaps there might be a difference between 'country' and 'town'

Time to go adjust my taxes to get people flowing back in again.

The most beginners don`t know that there is a differnece where people live and the question comes on regulary. At least the amount of people living in town should be present somewhere. Is something like this on the To-Do-List for ToT?

As soon as you have build the 'Handelsregister' (hm, wie heisst das Teil in der englischen Version?) you can see in there how many people live in this town

I forgot but it seems to be not the best place for that. Maybe better in the build screen?
