Using localhost as SMTP server

Has anyone been able to use localhost as his SMTP server? In OS X, I have postfix set up as a local SMTP server (works great when I need to send mail from off my school's network), but ToT doesn't seem to like using this set up for some reason.

Ho do you put the address of your SMTP? Localhost? If so, I'm not sure whether it resolves it's name. Please try 127.0.0.0 (if I remember) or your IP address. Tell if it works...
