I dont know where else to put this because it doesnt belong in the "in-game" or "in-time" (as its for some reason called) section and its not Misc. as such.

Id like to know why certain players in Tamar are opposed to WAR?

The way I see it, in a game of this type it soon becomes stale if you can not advance and grow. To advance and grow when there are other people surrounding you is almost impossible. There is only so much an Over-Lord can provide you with.

War. Now this is an exciting, interesting, FUN part of a game ---- ESPECIALLY when its a beta game which you ar not paying for and where you are there purely to TEST things. Please tell me how you can test if a Report screen on ships being sunk/pilaged etc can be properly tested if it is never put into real tests? How do we know that suddenly loosing 3 or 4 armies to an opposition isnt going to for some unknown reason suddenly crash TOT? War helps us expand, it helps us grow in the game. and it Helps Wolfen with his tests.

Sure people die. but its a beta game. your supposed to.

I admit that in my "paying" game I am that much more careful about whom I annoy and whom I fight.

I would like every Lord/Player out there who does not invite excitement into a game that otherwise becomes stale (unless of course you are one of the originals and hence Own 2/3rds of all the lands of old tamar!) to talk to me in IRC and let me persuade you otherwise.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My thanks.

(and Lord Deverry shares his sentiments, though in a less vocal manor!)

I also agree with this. However, there are times for war and times for peace. Wether you are in a period where war would be advantageous to your expansion prospects or you're in a period where you'd rather keep the peace with people depends on your circumstances and the strength of your possible oponent(s).

Throughout the time I have been on Tamar I have been collecting as much information as I possibly can from the other Lords around me. I have worked out their personalities, their strendths and weaknesses and I have also built up a little idea of which Lords are best kept as allies and which could be possible future enemies.

Of course I'm not going to tell you if I want war or peace at this stage, as it would not be to my advantage for other people to know! However, I CAN tell you that times of peace AND times of war lie in my future on Tamar. I will do my best to time these events to my best possible advantage.

Unfortunately Tamar isn't big enough for all of us - and so somewhere along the line I will need to fight for my time here

See you on the battlefield
