ToT_Mac_V0.36.sit corrupt?

(ich habe das auch im Fragen Forum gepostet, weil ich noch keinen Zugang zu diesem Forum hatte)

Hi,

ich wollte heute die Apple Version ausprobieren und habe mir zuerst von einem anderen PC (ADSL) die beiden *.sit runtergeladen, wobei das update funktioniert, aber das base archiv nach kurzem entpacken (mit Stuff it expander) abbricht.

Fehlermeldung: 04.05.2004 23:05:41 Uhr - An error has occurred while expanding the file “ToT_Mac_V0.36.sit” (The archive may contain damaged content).

Auch ein neuerliches Downloaden der Datei direkt aufs Ibook mit Modem verursachte denselben Fehler (andere Ort, anderer Provider).

Da es ziemlich unwahrscheinlich ist, dass beide Downloads fehlerhaft sind, kann es vielleicht an einem Fehler bei euch liegen?

A short Version in English:

I downloaded the base archive for Apple/PPC's twice on different Computers with different providers and I always get the following error when trying to install it with Stuff-it-expander:

04.05.2004 23:05:41 Uhr - An error has occurred while expanding the file “ToT_Mac_V0.36.sit” (The archive may contain damaged content).

The update works perfectly!

PS: I am working on an g3 Ibook, OS X 10.3.3, 384 MB RAM

Can anyone try to download the V0.3.6 base archive? On my system the archive works well.

Hi,

I downloaded it 3 more times and even re-installed stuffit, but it always stops and logs the error message i mentioned in my first posting. I can unly unzip 17,8 MByte of the file.

I never had Problems with other sits so I really dont know what to do. Is this Game written for Classic or X?

Hi,

these seems to be an problem between the ToT-Package and Stuffit Expander version 8.
I get the same error as Felian.
But older versions (v5, that comes with OS 9 for instance) unstuff it without any problem.

Damn, I have removed classic from my IBook. Are there any other programms that can handle *.sit files or is it possible to upload the file in a stuffit 8.x compatible format?

I'm sorry, but I do have no Stuffit 8. Please try to find the older stuffit. I'll fix this problem in the next release by doing a whole base archive as a installer (for Mac OS X at least).

There are separete versions for Classic and Mac OS X in the archive. The Mac OS X version has Mach-O in the name.
