I tried ToT on an old pegasos (not aprilized).
(but I don't think it's the reason)

Actually, the game hangs when I try to register (I enter my first
name, then ... it hangs). Also when I enable AHI sound, it sometimes
hangs and the sound output doesn't seem correct.

(I use an old MorphOS version BTW, with ToT SE + public CD update)...

Do you have an idea what may be wrong ?

My computer is stable apart from that.

Hiya,
Well the fact that its an old Pegasos and old MorphOS will definatly be a contibuting factor. The latest updates are much much more stable from what Ive heard.

Also: Make sure that the partition that TOT is installed on has PLENTY of buffers using the Harddrive tool - in os3.5 lack of buffers caused TOT to crash constantly here but adding buffers solved the problems.

Hope that helps.

Hello sire mahen,

there is a bug in the ToT SE Version that i made
for thendic in aachen.

The current beta update normally must work. There
are three possible solutions.

1. Wait about one week for the new official update.

2. or take the beta update, that i sent Thendic for CES

3. or sign a NDA and take the newest beta version from us.

Until now i never got a pegasos for programming. I
wait for it over one year now.

Oops, the game crashed while trying to download the data...Apparently I lost a mill... The problem is that the email was already deleted so I couldn't re-download my data... I don't know what it's due to, but Tamar seems to crash a lot on my setup  Is there a way to make sure I never lose anything ?

(BTW, I shouldn't have done other things while downloading the turn - IB was downloading big files at the same time)...

Any idea ?

(the game hung while displaying a message like "0 ship....". But the computer was not really crashed, as I could still see the menu animation and hear the sound. The problem is that while ToT down/uploaded a turn, it seems to block the computer temporarily...

Did anyone experience such problems ?

Dear sire Mahen,

i have now two players with the same problem. The reason is a normal printf
and some unstable amiga systems. Normally
this printf opens a CON in the background.
Thats all.

To solve the problem, change the ToT-Client batch to this line :

ToT-Client.exe >directory:Debug.txt

Its not important where to write the output.
Its only important that it will be written to hard disk.

I will make a R5 today or tomorrow.

Sorry for my bad english. Hope you understand me.

Just some general advice:

Back up the map and data directories after each turn is uploaded.

Download the turn in an e-mail client like YAM without deleting it from the server. That way you can resend it to yourself if anything bad happens during download.

The combination of those two precautions should keep you safe.
