Hello everyone

I'm considering getting ToT for my pegasos / morphos
but I still have trouble really understanding how
ToT works, and particularly, what I'll have to pay.

I read that the SE version bundled with some pegasos
would have 75 free turns.

oh, by the way, thanks ever so much for contributing
to the amiga, and good luck for everything

No. If you buy the box, then there are 300 rounds inclusive and you have a CD with the great soundtrack and a CD for the Intro in it.

Ok, to further clarrify things - Initially you have two choices when buying Tales. The Full, normal, commercial version which is available from your local retailer and will come with an initial 300 free turns. As well as the game CD you also get 2 other CDs - the music and the introduction movie.
Or you can get the SE version that comes in the bundle with a Pegasos. This one has just the Game cd (no music or intro cds) and has just 75 free turns.

75 turns lasts you 75 days of playing (1 turn per up/download of data).

Wolfen mentioned the price for FURTHER turn prices after the initial free turns (300 or 75) have run out. Naturally if you buy the full box set you wont have to buy more turns for a long time to come!

Your choice
Either way you get the full game, its not limited in the SE version.

Enjoy!!

Okay, thanks a lot

I was also wondering where people could get
more info - b/c I noticed that really few
people reall understood what the game was
really about.

(that is to say, what you can do in the game,
more screenshots showing the actual game, and
not just pictures...)

Also, as it is not version 1.0, I was wondering
what was missing... And if it will be available
for all retailers later (the french dealers don't
have it)

Thank you a lot

... oh, and why not comparisons with existing
games (freeciv, heroes of might&magic...)...

Because I was a bit confused when I read the
website

sorry for annoying you  it's just sad
to see that few amigans know the game, while
it certainly deserve to be well known.

it is hard to do what you request, as tot is totally different to any existing game. it is internet-turn based, not real time. you play with/against other human players (there are thousands possible). it is a mix of many genres, role playing, strategy, trading sim,...
i hope wolfen releases a demo version, soon, as i got a request for that, too.
the version is <1.0, because this game will never be finished. it is always in developement, gets improved, bugfixed and expanded. so wolfen just continued the numbers from the beta-version, as another number doesn't really make sense.

Thanks for all the details

But, personnally, I think the game is a bit
too expensive. I mean : ordering the basic
set, with shipping costs 75 euros.

And then you have to pay again
when all turns are used. It can get extremely
expensive, IMHO. 2 years = >120 euros.

I think, either the basic set should enable
to play with no turns limit, or should be less
expensive. Maybe 45 euros. Then the initial cost
would be normal compared to other games.

Anyway, people who get bored can stop after the first
300 turns...

Well, that was just my point of view
It's just that I know many people who won't get
it because of the price...

Anyways, thanks for all the hard work and sorry
for annoying you
