I have registered Tales of Tamar,
and connects from my Amiga 4000 to email,
getting these error messages:
1) The following error occured:
-ERR Could not determine server CR LF
2) No Emails for Tales of Tamar
The author keeps saying I have got the correct email
address....I am running v. 0.52 of ToT....
Can anyone help me, please?

I need more informations to solve that problem.
Just one answer for two questions. 'No' for spam filter or did you just not reading the FAQ ?
Anyway:
Search with an email programm in your postbox for mails from tot at tamar.net with the subject '@Ixxxxxxx' or '@xxxxxxxx' where x stands for a digit number from 0-9. This is written and explained in 2.3 of the manual. Tell me pls if there are any mails with these subjects...
If not, then tell me pls if you are using this email address also for your normal mails.
If not then try the registering with another email address. Maybe that will help.

Same answer for both questions. No.
But later I checked the FAQ.
I have no email program attached to that account...
I did think ToT worked as an email program...
...but ok I can set it up and check...
I am not using that email for my normal mails.
That email address is totally dedicated Tales of Tamar...

OK....
I right now set up that account in an email client....
I did receive plenty of emails from Tales of Tamar....
This was done on Opera using my PC...
Still, on my Amiga4000: same error messages....

Have you double-checked the POP and SMTP server settings in the options screen of ToT? "Cannot determine server" sounds like the problem may be there...

Ok,
that means that something is wrong with your pop server settings. You can send the mails, you receive the answer, now check the name of your pop server again pls. Maybe you just made a fault in the username or the password. One of this three names must be wrong.
If you send the hole map and data directories to
eternity@pride.de with the pop-configuration setting written in that email, i can help you maybe.

Cannot determine server CR LF - was error message.
CR = Carriage Return
LF = Line Feed
afaik...

Server settings in ToT:
user name: tot
password: ********
pop name: mail.bluezone.no
smtp name: smtp.bluezone.no
email post box:
tot@bluezone.no
Always online
Data transfer: via email
Server settings in Opera:
Mail address:
tot@bluezone.no
Incoming pop server:
Server: mail.bluezone.no
user name:
tot@bluezone.no
password: ********
Outgoing SMTP server:
Server: smtp.bluezone.no
---------------
hm....ok.....I have used a different user name
in Opera, but when I right now entered
the user name
tot@bluezone.no in Tales of Tamar
I got a different error message:
The following error occured: -ERR
Re-Authentication Failure CR LF
Awwwww.....this is not good at all.....

I wanna play!

Hi alefone,
if you use "
tot@bluezone.no" as user name in Opera settings and it works, you should use it in ToT-Client exactly the same way.
Since you got an positive error message regarding you idendity, please double check your pass word.
Kind regards,
Christian aka. Godefroy
