Werter Lord Biffordicus

---
Dear ElWim,
please write to BiffordicsII in common tongue, because the language of the traders is not his own.
Kind regards,
Godefroy the Embalmed
Danke

Danke Lord Godefroy
Elwim

Dear Biffordicus II,
since ElWim is not able to tell you himself in common tongue, I will translate for him.
Only ElWim himself is reliable for the content of this message.

Dear Lord Biffordicus
Your troops have just this year annexed land from mine.
We look at this as an accident and have ordered our troops to correct your misstake.
For good neighbourhood and trade!
Elwim
Regent of the free towns of Bren

Firstly to Lord Godefroy, my thanks for your translations to Common.
Secondly, to Elwim:
you come on to our small land, which is barely big enough for the few small and new Lords that the Lords placed here and you proceed to take land DIRECTLY above my own, where it is obvious to all who have eyes that I will NEED, i repeat: **NEED** to expand to in order to survive.
Therefore this is NOT your land, but my own and, if the other new lords get there first it is theirs.
I petition you to get lost of our island. If, once we have established ourselves you wish to come back and try to take us over i will grant you the privelage of war.
until then you are the like the school bully, picking on someone 1/100th of your size (your an old, and established lord who does not need this land) and I will not stand for it.
Sure if you fight I will probably lose, but let it be known henceforth to all that Biffordicus the second and all his forebears are not cowards and we WILL defend our rights!
May the Gods take pity on us and decide that it is foolish not to place a protective barrier around us new lords and our lands!
Yours in the Tales.

Werter Lord Bifford

Merlin.

Dear Elwim,
If you wish to talk with Bifford you must write it in the common-language. He cannnot read the merchandising-language.
Greetings
Merlin.

Thankfully my translators are on hand, and while they may not be perfect they manage well enough to understand idiots that refuse to talk in the common toungue when spreading their fork-toungued lies.
Elwim, you say you need land!? How is this so? you are a large and well establised "Lord" (sorry, i do not know your title). I am but a humble and VERY new Lord to this land. So who's needs are greater? you have ships, you have large armies. You have goodness knows how many towns.
I have one town, a few armies (size remains my knowledge only) and a small amount of land. No ships, no medium or heavy armies, no cavalry. How can I possibly be a threat to you!?
Leave this Island which is designated for the new players. Or if you must have land here you are welcome to take a basic 7 acres of land in position where Blackadder held reign until recently. But do not expect more without a fight.
Do not take me for a push-over - if you want this place you will have to wipe me off the face of Tamar to do so, and if you do that every other Lord of any rank will see that you are a bully, a coward, a land-grabbing thieveing wotsit who picks on people that are smaller than you are!!!
Come on, do your worst if you want your reputation to plummet! Oh, and don't expect my descendents to take any thrift with you when they grow up if you do kill me, because I have a VERY sequre safe-house for my family and they receive constant updates on my progress via the magical mediums at my behest.
Here's to a non-violet future where you go find some unclaimed land elsewhere.
Lord BiffordicusII.

To all whom are concerned with the matter of BiffordicusII vs. Elwim.
The war (such as it was) is over! We have agreed that I shall take back the land to the north of my town and that Elwim shall take a town and 6 extra hexes of land where the Lord Blackadder was holed up until recently (that is, to the south and west of my hometown).
With Elwim just needing an extra town, and myself originally feeling very unsettled by such a close neighbour I think we can now both be happy with the arrangements, and with luck a mutual understanding (if not a friendship) can grow from these troubles.
My thanks to Elwim.
My thanks to my annonymous backer (you know who you are)
and My thanks to my people, who sacrificed much in this effort.
Live long in the Tales!
Lord BiffordicusII
