Captain Garibaldi the Despot?

I read in the tavern that I am Garibaldi the Despot. Garibaldi the Nasty. Garibaldi the Mean. Garibaldi the opressor of small lords.
What have I done to deserve these accolades? Well, it seems I upset Lord Gorgon by not sitting around and allowing him to take whatever land of mine he feels should belong to him.
What does Lord Gorgon say? Well, that I stole his land at 67x21 and 67x23 and that I threatened to kill any of his armies that were anywhere near. And where did Lord Gorgon get this land? Well, he says he got the land at 67x21 from orcs and the one at 67x23 from a dragon, and that I had abandoned both areas for as long as he has been on Tamar.
Those are mighty interesting claims, no doubt made under the idea that it all comes down to whose word will be believed, and that surely a small lord will get more sympathy than a big nasty lord who has too much land already. Yes?
Well, no. What it comes down to is that I have had to sit down with my archivists and pull out all the reports that cover the years Lord Gorgon's claims refer to. What we have is a very interesting chronicle indeed, and a very angry Captain who is fed up with having to waste his time because some idiot wants to throw mud on his honour.
We start in the spring of 318. This shows that 67x21 belongs to me and 67x23 is being annexed as part of Lucksi's will. Note that the acre to the west, belonging to orcs, has been cleaned of vermin but NOT annexed to my realm. I left this land for Lord Gorgon as it belonged to him, and even made an offer of FREE weapons so he could defend himself against orcs. The offer was turned down as Lord Gorgon did not have a trade registry.
Next we have the autumn of 319. The nasty orcs have taken my land at 67x21.
Winter of 319. The orcs hold 67x21.
Spring of 320. The orcs hold 67x21.
Summer of 320. The orcs hold 67x21.
Autumn of 320. The orcs hold 67x21.
Winter of 320. Baron Dietrich takes the land at 67x21. Why he does this is unclear.
Spring of 321. Baron Dietrich holds 67x21.
Summer of 321. Baron Dietrich holds 67x21.
Autumn of 321. My soldiers are ready to re-annex 67x21. Baron Dietrich does not dispute my right to this land.
Winter of 321. The land at 67x21 is re-annexed to my realm.
Spring of 322. The infamous dragon appears.
Summer of 322.
Winter of 322. The dragon destroys Baron Dietrich's town.
Spring of 323. The dragon moves south.
Summer of 323.
Autumn of 323. Baron Dietrich re-annexes his ruins.
Winter of 323.
Spring of 324. Dietrich re-settles the ruins.
Summer of 324. Lord Gorgon produces his first army.
Autumn of 324. Gorgon annexes his land previously taken by orcs.
Winter of 324. Nothing happens. Presumably this is when Gorgon asks me whether I want to sell him any land. His enquiry is ignored, as Babylon does not sell land.
Spring of 325. Gorgon annexes my land at 67x21. Not orc land. My land. Dietrich sends me a message being under the impression that I had given permission. I inform him that no permission has been given and that the land will be re-annexed at my convenience.
Summer of 325. Gorgon carries on annexing, and meets the red dragon.
Autumn of 325. Gorgon's annexing temporarily halted, presumably because of the dragon.
Winter of 325. The dragon crosses into my lands at 67x23, but does not annex it.
Summer of 326. The dragon leaves my land, without annexing it. Gorgon's light infantry is back for another try.
Autumn of 326. Gorgon moves into the lands given to him by Baron Dietrich.
Winter of 326.
Spring of 327. Gorgon annexes south of the town.
Summer of 327. Gorgon turns south west.
Autumn of 327. Gorgon annexes my land at 67x23. Not dragon land. My land.
Now, unless everyone thinks I've sat down and faked all that, I believe that concludes the dispute. The lands at 67x21 and 67x23 were taken from me by Lord Gorgon without permission, and I have taken them back. Lord Gorgon's claim for compensation and his accusation of theft are therefore rejected.
If the authenticity of the above is questioned, I am quite willing to have the Gods of Tamar investigate for themselves and declare whether the maps are genuine or not.
What I do know is this. The next time I have to prove Babylon's good faith and honour, I will do so in the traditional manner. It's much quicker and more final!
