Hi All,

Just a quick intro. I live in Perth, Western Australia. I am playing with the Amiga Client, in E-UAE on Linux.

I have joined after being invited to help increase the numbers of English speaking players :)

All Hail, Hallecturus!

Hi Hallecturus,

it would be advantageous, if you would choose any other form for the end of your messages. So you never are welcome here.

Why are you so rude, Lord Messaggio?

Hi Hallecturus,
welcome in our famous game.
I shifted the thread once because it is outtime.

At the end of your message, the word "Hail" is not seen gladly because it is connected with the Nazi time in germany.

Best,
Sven

I would not say, that this word is only used in the nazi time.
But someone can connect it with this time.
And therefore it can be better to not use this word.

My personal opinion is, that we should not connect all words with negative events.

Best,
Sven

Oh, come on! 'hail' has absolutely nothing to do with Nazis.
'hail' is not the nazi-German 'Heil'! Totally different meaning!

'hail' has more in common with the word 'ave' like in 'Ave Maria'!
I'm sure you don't want to blame Maria to be a Nazi, do you?

Ok ok.
Sorry, I had too much interpreted in this words.
So I say sorry for this discussion.

@ Nellwyn
No, I want not blame Maria to be a Nazi. What kind of crazy thought.

Best,
Sven

Thank you all for your warm welcomes. As to the mis-understanding with 'Hail' let's all hope with more 'Common Tongue' being used around here, such mis-understandings will be put to rest :)

Admittedly, the use of Hail in English is really not different to Heil in Deutsche. It mean to 'respect' or 'give honour' to someone or something. And of course, to sign one's message off as "Everyone honour Me" could quite reasonably be taken as at least a little conceited. My character does have his little short commings, but all in all he will be tolerable, if not loveable. You will all see. (Imagine a megalomaniac crossed with a "mummy's boy")

All Hail, Hallecturus! :D
