hello to all travelers/traders.

recently i have noticed a (glitch?) thing with tales of tamar.
When you settle in a new town:

1. Grain useage gets way too high.
2. Production halts

how do i know?

well i tried this , i had 400.000 people
and i produced alot of stuff and had enough corn to last me a year.

Then i took a new town and made 20 mills and 20 grainirys , by then i had about 320.000 people (had to reduce it for several reasons) , now i have 370.000 people and my new harvests doesnt cope with what the people need! , i once feeded my people with 80 mills + grainiry , now i have 100 and i cant produce enough?

what am i dooing wrong?

the people eat about 550.000 per quarter (now)

compared to before i took the last town when they ate (less than 400.000)

any tip would be of much interest.

cheers

Extra towns do actually allow greater production of corn and a population increase, however you must have the land resources required to support an extra town, have you aquired new land since you inherited my glorious empire?

Also, some years see bad harvests due to poor weather conditions etc. These are times when good allies come in handy - your neighbours will supply you corn when you struggle, you supply them corn when they struggle. Your friends are very valuable

Best Regards,

Hello tamarian,

extra towns can be a blessing or a curse. Depends how your point of view is really

What population you can have is basically 70000 with one town if the taxes are medium and up to 100000 if the taxes are low.

People may (and will) die due to corn shortage each quarter but as long as they are not taxed to death...

Yes, production stops. But could you produce stuff with 400k inhabitants? If so, then your land must be very very rich in resources. My production stopped at 250k population.

And I´m talking about Lucksis realm. I know that my land didn´t offer much on resources but with the money I made from taxes, I could afford to buy what I wanted.

I produced goods only for myself on two occasions later on. Because it is very risky to have a total population of 200k when you have 45 cities

But it sound like you either put to much or not enough seeds out in spring. I was fine with about 40 to 45k of corn for each town I owned. With biology (or whatever that research is named in english) on level 3 or above.

Oh yes, and I hear that there is a new feature in ToT for the harvest, but a) I haven´t seen it and b) I don´t know if it is only beta yet and not for players.
