we are so very sorry for that it seams that one of our two little warships is anchoring in your harbour. The one we have found and have contact to is shipping across the sea. To the other, this must be the one you are talking about, we have no contact to.

We make out two options:

First is, that the seamen wanted to go on land to see if the rumours are true that you are a maid, we would call in our language een warlijk lekker meisje. In this case we entreat you to be indulgent with them and accept our deepest excusions. We will send another ship to end the excursion.

Second is, that we have to fear that the ship has been hijacked by the fierce pirate Gijbraas Drijpwoot, an evil guy, or as we call men like them in our country: een echt oeblen keerl, hu nuur daroop waardt, datt he kan je booses doen. In this worst case we entreat you to watch out and observe the banner of the ship. If it is flying pirate`s colours, you have our permission to sink it. We certainly will compensate for the damage you would get. But take care, that Drijpwoot will not escape. We heard many stories about him destroying whole towns alone by himselves.

Please, graceful Maid Marry, let us know, which colours the ship is flying.

Dear Aard von Hoogendam,

the problem with the men is, they drunk all our whiskey.
The ship has no other flag than the colours of Hoogendam.
Because I think, only a pirat can drink that amount of alcohol, maybe I should sink the ship, if you will agree.
By the way, I have thirteen men of the ship in jail, because they wanted to enter the local townhal on a let us say not very gentle way.

I hope you can send a message to that ship, to check out under which colour it is sailing.

Oh dear, it was that terrible pirat. I had to attack the ship, but the crew burned it down until my men arrived.

we thank you so very much. Our fleet (the one other little warship) is chasing Drijpwoot for years. We hope that the hunt is over now by your great effort, but we are anxious, that the bastard succeeded to escape once again. This guy seems to be like a cat, or as we call it: luett poessirlijk diirchen, watt heet nijn lijven en laandt immerns oop sijn footjes.

As we promised, we will compensate your damage. We will send you a grand warship and 100.000 Gulden. Please put one Dolch (we really do not know, what it is in your language, we call it: niet so lankk wij een sweert, aabe doog noog oens lankker dann een messertje van het kommbuisje) on the market and you will get the money.

So we hope at last to live in peaceful friendship with your people.

Dear Aard van Hoogendam,

there is no need to give me anything for hunting a pirat.
Me myslef, I didi not see anything because my Admiral was hunting that ship when it left the secure harbour of Hurry, without permission of course.
Luckily it was the pirat ship you told me.
